的确，何必呢，Perl和Python都是非常好的语言，争来争去实在没有必要。不过话又说回来，如果是有意义的争论，例如在某个实用性的模块或者语言特性上的争论
还是可以的，如果他能够促进语言的发展的话~~

所谓语言的差异也是人之间的差异，毕竟都是由我们所设计和开发出来的，用这些语言的人也会有差异，所以才会选择自己不同的语言，选择适合自己的语言~~

经常阅读不同的邮件列表,注意到一种现象,就是开源必提python,甚至提python就顺便批判perl.
难道perl阻碍了开源的发展么?

相比之下，Perl 人似乎更随和一些，呵呵。Perl 阻碍了开源的发展了么？我们有 CPAN，里面有 61584 个开源模块, 6912 个开源贡献者。。。这些数字一直都在快速增长。个人以为 Perl 社区应该是开源最早的社区之一了。

而我个人在自己的工作中编写的代码（其中许多是 Perl）几乎全部开源了，看不出来 Perl 阻碍了我个人的开源活动。不过反过来，如果没有 Perl，我倒未必会这么多产，呵呵 ;)

发动语言之争是没有太大意义的，就像中国人自夸汉语博大精深，而老美则洋洋自得英语的简单明了。更多的是一种个人情绪和口味，而未必真是语言本身的优劣。客观上讲，Python 的 GUI 和多线程确实比 Perl 要出色。但对我个人而言，在熟悉了 Perl 之后再学 Python 多少有些"冗余"，呵呵。我会更倾向于学习差异更大的语言，比如 Haskell 和 Erlang ;)

Perl 最让我喜欢的一是 CPAN 二是国际 community 的文化，此二者均已超出简单的语言范畴之外 :))

或许正如一位德国存在主义哲学家所说的，不同的语言是不同社会的人所住的"家"，而语言的不同导致两家的对话近乎不可能……

(我个人对python也很有兴趣,在此不是挑起两者之争,只是就事论事.)

嗯，开放和友好的心态是开源人应有的品格 :) 拒绝偏见和自大。相互诋毁和谩骂确实很是孩子气，呵呵 :))
